Call for Public Comment

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) seeks comments on the Alameda Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AAHTF) Guidelines. The State of California Local Housing Trust Fund program requires an annual public hearing be held to hear comments on the AAHTF guidelines, for the purpose of discussing the criteria for project selection and funding. Public examination of the guidelines of the Alameda Affordable Housing Trust Fund is vitally important to AHA’s focus on transparency and commitment to building affordable homes within the City of Alameda. Please use this opportunity to comment on the AAHTF Guidelines. Your response will provide insights for our future approach to financing affordable housing in the City of Alameda.

This hearing will be time certain heard at 7:45pm on March 20, 2024, as part of the Alameda Affordable Housing Corporation Board of Director’s meeting. College and Career Exploration for AHA Youth

This fall get your high school student to the “Diplomas to Degrees” Center at the Alameda Boys and Girls Club.  The “Diplomas to Degrees” Center helps Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) high school students prepare for vocational training and/or college after graduating high school.  All high school students in your AHA household are eligible to attend the “Diploma to Degrees” Center at the Alameda Boys and Girls Club for FREE.    At the “Diplomas to Degrees” Center high school students will perform career exploration, prepare for college applications, explore vocational training programs, and learn about financial aid resources (which includes free tuition at the College of Alameda).

Furthermore, your high school student will be eligible to receive a $250 stipend for each semester completed of the college and career preparation curriculum at the  “Diplomas to Degrees” Center.   The stipend is to be used solely for post-high school education costs, whether it be for vocational training and/or college.  The stipends are awarded by the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) directly to the AUSD high school graduate.

We invite all AHA parents and their AUSD high school students to attend one of these two upcoming informational sessions to learn about the “Diplomas to Degrees” center.

Landlord Portal Training

AHA hosts a monthly Landlord Portal training on the last Wednesday of every month at 2pm.  The goal of the landlord portal training is to:

1. Provide instructions on how to use the landlord portal.
2. Answer any questions related to the landlord portal.
3. Help landlords initiate process to sign-up for landlord portal.
4. Receive suggestions on how to improve the landlord portal.

Call for Public Comment -Meeting

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) seeks comments on the Alameda Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AAHTF) Guidelines. The State of California Local Housing Trust Fund program requires an annual public hearing be held to hear comments on the AAHTF guidelines, for the purpose of discussing the criteria for project selection and funding. Public examination of the guidelines of the Alameda Affordable Housing Trust Fund is vitally important to AHA’s focus on transparency and commitment to building affordable homes within the City of Alameda. Please use this opportunity to comment on the AAHTF Guidelines. Your response will provide insights for our future approach to financing affordable housing in the City of Alameda.

This Call for Public Comment will be held at 7:45 p.m. on March 15, 2022, as part of the Alameda Affordable Housing Corporation Board of Director’s meeting.
