AHA Complaint

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) strives to provide the highest levels of customer service and to serve as a resource to tenants, program participants, landlords, and the public. If the encounter with AHA was less than satisfactory, there are processes in place to submit complaints and grievances. Please review below for more information in regard to filing complaints.

Fair Housing Complaint

If you have been denied your housing rights, you may have experienced unlawful discrimination. If you think you may be a victim of housing discrimination, you may file a complaint with HUD (the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development)or the California Civil Rights Department (CRD).

Should you have additional needs, feel free to contact the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the California Civil Rights Department (CRD) to address your concerns.

Fraud or Abuse Claims

If you suspect fraud or abuse of assisted housing, please report it to AHA using the online fraud form. All reports of alleged abuse are kept confidential.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

In the event of a federal government shut down, the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) expects Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) to our landlords, for AHA subsidized rental units, to continue as usual. If you have not received your HAP payment by the 5th of October, please contact an AHA Housing Specialist.  AHA Housing Specialists are assigned by tenant last name.  To find AHA Housing Specialist contact information please review the information below.
