AFFORDABLE HOUSING INTERNSHIP: (SALARY RANGE: $22.00 – $25.00 hourly)
The Housing Authority is seeking up to five (5) team-oriented candidates to work in multiple areas of focus including, Affordable Housing Development, Housing Data and Policy, Finance, Housing Programs, Asset Management, Property Management as interns for the Summer of 2024. Interns will work on a wide range of assignments within one of the disciplines supporting AHA’s operations and programs. The internship will provide an opportunity to perform meaningful and impactful work for an agency dedicated to providing affordable housing in the most impacted region of the nation.
Dependent on the area of focus selected this position will provide hands-on experience in the following tasks: process of analyzing, financing, developing, and operating affordable housing; analyzing housing policy, evaluating current policies and practices, assessing implementation of policies and compliance under the Housing Choice Voucher and the Move to Work program; assisting with finance transactions, year-end closing, financial audit support and data review.
Successful graduates from the internship program will be eligible to apply for a one year paid fellowship program with AHA.

PROGRAM ASSISTANT: (SALARY RANGE 15: $36.67 – $44.57 hourly)
The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda is looking for an exceptional, process-oriented professional to provide complex administrative support duties. The position currently open will provide support to the Authority’s Human Resources and Property Operations Departments including supporting various human resources and property management functions and providing general and back-up on other administrative tasks as needed, which may be in other departments. May also serve as back up for various functions including Executive Assistant and may fill other program assistant functions in the agency including the front desk as needed. AHA is seeking two exceptional, team-oriented candidates to work at the Management Analyst level. Management Analysts work on a wide range of analytical, management, and technical assignments supporting AHA operations and programs, and will have the opportunity to perform meaningful and impactful work for an agency dedicated to providing affordable housing in the most impacted region of the nation. One of the positions currently open is in the Housing Programs Department and will report to the Director of Housing Programs, and the second is in the Data and Policy Department and will report to the Director of Data and Policy.

HR MANAGEMENT ANALYST (SALARY RANGE 33: $110,928 – $134,844 annually)

The candidate hired will report to the Director of Human Resources.

DIRECTOR OF ASSET MANAGEMENT : (SALARY RANGE 56: $16,196 – $19,686 monthly)
The Housing Authority is seeking an exceptional candidate for its first Director of Asset Management. Join AHA and build a department responsible for planning and managing AHA’s asset management functions and preserving the long-term health and financial viability of the growing real estate portfolio of AHA and its affiliates.
AHA is particularly interested in applications from candidates with a strong track record in various aspects of the affordable housing industry including finance, particularly low-income housing tax credits and tax-exempt bonds; development and rehabilitation of existing properties; planning and oversight of property repositioning; and related real estate issues with an emphasis on asset management analysis and reporting. The successful candidate will be team-oriented with the ability to coordinate and collaborate with other departments to move projects forward and position AHA’s portfolio for longevity and financial sustainability in the challenging Bay Area housing market.

AHA welcomes applications from experienced professionals to help support existing staff and teams. Retired CalPERS annuitants are also welcome to apply. These positions are generally part time (less than 20 hours a week) and/or short term (maximum 900 hours in any fiscal year). Salary will be determined at the time a specific need is identified, and will be within a comparable wage range on the AHA Pay Schedule (a link can be accessed above).
Candidates must have significant expertise in one or more of the following areas to be considered:
- Affordable Housing Development
- Asset Management
- Property Management
- Capital improvement projects
- Finance
- Yardi or Laserfiche administration or other IT project management
- Management Analyst work
- Personnel or project management in the public sector, preferably in California
Experience in the affordable housing or public sector is preferred. Candidates must have a track record of being able to work independently with limited supervision/direction, and have a history of exempt status work in prior positions. Strong computer skills are needed for this position (including Word, Excel, and Outlook); some positions may require Yardi proficiency.
Please note these are not training or entry level positions and some in office work in Alameda will be required, generally on Wednesdays.

Temporary Recruiter – Affordable Housing : (SALARY RANGE: $92.66 an hour Open until filled.)
The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is looking to hire a temporary part or full-time recruiter to assist the agency with recruitments for a number of key management level positions.

Applications will be accepted from individuals who can commit between 20 – 40 hours per week to this task over the next 6 or more months.

Individual must have an equivalent to the graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and at least four years of professional administrative and management support experience, preferable in a public agency.
•
This is an individual contributor role, and the recruiter is expected to be able to work independently and attend weekly check-ins with senior management.

The candidate must be able to screen candidates against minimum qualifications, including collecting applicant documentation, verifying applicant qualifications and conducting initial interviews and reference checks.
•
The candidate must be highly organized to keep track of each recruitment using tools such as Excel and Outlook. Confidentially is also a key requirement.

A proven track record in sourcing leads, recruitment, interviewing, and hiring is required. Non-profit or government hiring experience preferred, but not required.

The AHA may select more than one recruiter to obtain needed results.
