Rosefield Village Redevelopment Project - 700 Block of Eagle Avenue

  • Developed by the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA)
  • Location: 700 Block of Eagle Avenue
  • The redevelopment project will demolish the central, prefabricated 2-story apartments and replace them with a new 78 unit apartment building.  The 6 buildings at the east and west edges will be renovated.
  • The entire Rosefield site will be a construction zone for approximately 2 years while construction takes place. Construction is expected to begin in winter 2019-2020 but an exact date has not yet been set. It will start no sooner than October 1, 2019.
  • The entire project will be funded with Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Alameda County bond funds, and other affordable housing funds.
  • Post redevelopment, the entire property will continue to serve income eligible residents at low, very low, and extremely low-income rent levels.  Residents of the new development will need to comply with requirements of those funding programs. A wait list will be published in the future.

North Housing
  •  The Housing Authority has taken ownership of 12 acres of land at the former Alameda Naval Air Station (NAS) from the U.S. Navy. As part of the base reuse process, AHA and partners Building Futures and Alameda Point Collaborative submitted a successful application for a homeless accommodation at the Alameda NAS. The Navy approved the land transfer to AHA with the requirement that 90 units of permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless households are built on the property.
  • AHA plans to build up to 489 units of housing over the entire site, of which permanent supportive housing is one part, and is currently undertaking a master planning process to redevelop the 12 acre parcel of former Coast Guard housing.
  • This redevelopment project is in the early stages and more information is available at www.northhousing.org.
  • No applications are available at this time.
