Administration

Administration oversees management of all Housing Authority functions and provides support to them.  Duties specific to this division include:

bullet

Preparation of agenda packets for and noticing of Housing Commission and Board of Commissioners meetings
 

bullet

Maintenance of the Authority’s telecommunications and computer systems
 

bullet

Maintenance of official records, including Resolutions, Minutes, real property documents, HUD contracts, etc.

Contracts Management

This division is responsible for maintaining the contract files for the all divisions of the Housing Authority.  Contracting for and oversight of extraordinary maintenance projects (i.e., rehabilitation of apartment units, buildings, systems, etc.) also are major functions of this division.  Duties and responsibilities specific to this division include:

Renovation of units, apartment buildings, exterior structures, and grounds
 

bullet

Ensuring compliance with insurance, license and other contract provisions
 

bullet

Contracting for architectural, engineering, and other services

Finance

Finance provides financial support for all other divisions.  This division is also responsible for the agency’s budget. Other duties specific to this department include:

Payment of bills
 

bullet

Rent collection
 

bullet

Budget preparation
 

bullet

 Monitoring income and expenditures 
 

bullet

Investing cash assets

Housing Assistance

The Housing Programs Division is made up of the Section 8 and Eligibility Units.  In addition to managing the Section 8 Programs, the Section 8/Eligibility Unit processes all applications for housing assistance for all housing programs, including those for Housing Management.  Duties specific to this division include:

 Maintenance of the waiting list

Determination of applicant eligibility
 

bullet

Performance of unit inspections
 

bullet

Executing contracts with property owners to subsidize rent payments of Housing Choice Voucher holders
 

bullet

Determination of continued tenant eligibility
 

bullet

Determination of compliance with Authority and federal rules and regulations
 

bullet

 Management of the Family Self-Sufficiency Program

Managed Housing

This division is responsible for administering housing programs where the Housing Authority owns or manages the complex and maintaining all the buildings, systems and grounds managed by the Authority.  Duties specific to this division include:

Day to day maintenance of apartments units, buildings and systems

bullet

Preparation of vacant units for new occupants

bullet

 Safety training for all staff

bullet

Determination of continued tenant eligibility

bullet

Determination of compliance with Authority and federal rules and regulations
