Down Payment Assistance Program

The City of Alameda offers two homebuyer assistance programs in order to promote and enable homeownership among households of moderate income. The two programs are “Down Payment Assistance” (DPA) and “Below Market Rate Housing” (BMR).

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda, Department of Housing and Community Development (AHA) administers these programs on behalf of the City’s Department of Community Development. 

Currently, there is no Down Payment Assistance available.  Please refer to the Below Market Rate (BMR) Homeownership tab for information about any available units.

(Alameda County) AC Boost

Alameda County has allocated fifty-five million dollars ($55,000,000) with up to $150,000 per household to help promote home ownership.  At least one person in the household must live and/or work anywhere within Alameda County.
