    The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified multifamily residential real estate appraisers to provide appraisal service per 24CFR970.19(c).  The property to be appraised is a 120-unit family housing complex.  Minority- and women-owned businesses and small business enterprises are encouraged to participate.

    The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is requesting proposals from qualified property owners who are interested in project-based voucher (PBV) assistance for their properties.

     Interested parties should review the Request for Proposals (RFP) and the required Application that can be downloaded from this website. The AHA encourages interested parties to review the AHA's policies on PBV assistance. This information can be found on the website under "Policies>Administrative Plan>Chapter 16."

    Applications for new construction projects are due by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2007. Applications for existing housing units will be accepted on an ongoing basis. The Authority encourages Minority and Women property owners to apply. For additional information, contact Eileen Duffy at (510) 747-4318.

    HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
    ANNOUNCES OPENING OF WAITING LIST
    FOR MARKET RATE UNITS AT INDEPENDENCE PLAZA

    The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda is now accepting applications for the Market Rate Waiting List for Independence Plaza. Independence Plaza is a 186-unit senior complex at Atlantic and Constitution Avenues in Alameda.

    Applications will be accepted from persons 62 years of age and older. For One Bedroom Market Rate units, applicant households must have a minimum income of $1700 per month. For Two Bedroom Market Rate units, applicant households must have a minimum income of $2100 per month.

    Application forms will be available for pick-up at:

    **Note:  This is not the opening of the Section 8 Waiting list**

    ANNOUNCES OPENING OF WAITING LIST
    FOR FOUR AND FIVE BEDROOM AFFORDABLE UNITS

    For four bedroom affordable units, the number of family members generally should be a minimum of six persons, and a maximum of eight persons.

    For five bedroom affordable units, the number of family members generally should be a minimum of eight persons, and a maximum of 10 persons.

    Actual rental subsidy and number of bedrooms will be determined by income and composition of the applicant family.
